Click to learn more

The RCLS spring musical 2025 is Annie Jr!

The musical will be performed three times: the evenings of March 14 & 15 and the afternoon of March 16. Grades K-8 are eligible to participate. Students in grades K & 1 will participate in one or two of the shows. Your family will select the days that work best for you. Students in grades 2-8 will participate in all three shows. Please note that by trying out students are committing to participate in all performances as detailed here.

All students who are interested in being in the play must register their participation below by January 10. You can find the registration form below.

If your child is interested in an acting and/or singing role, they must come to one try-out time. Please sign them up for a try-out time here: Tryout Signup, based on grade level, and list their name and grade level in the comment box.

At try-outs, students who are interested in singing a solo, duet, or trio must have a song prepared to sing. This can be as simple as "Happy Birthday" or the "ABC's." We will also sing a song as a group, do a group movement activity, and read from the script. A reminder: Parents do not attend try-outs. You may wait in front of the office, pick up students in the parking lot afterwards, or arrange for after-school care.

Students who are interested in stage crew, sound & lights, or hair & make-up do not need to try out. They will need to register as well. Registrations close on January 10.

 Annie Jr.

Based on the popular comic strip and adapted from the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, with a beloved book and score by Tony Award winners, Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, Annie JR. features everyone’s favorite little redhead in her very first adventure.

With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations, finding a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

With plenty of parts to go around, including featured roles as well as ensemble parts for orphans, servants and tourists, Annie JR. is ideal for productions involving different grade levels.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Miss Schauer.
