| You may notice upon meeting and talking to me that there is something different about my voice. Let me share this with you. I was born eight weeks premature weighing in at 5 pounds 13 oz. I was in the NICU for one month and doctors weren't sure if I would live. I had tubes everywhere on my body and my parents could only touch not hold me for some time. My heart stopped beating on several occassions. The doctors and pastor were called in but after a few tries they got my heart beating again. God was with me and my parents. God is so good and faithful. "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11 Around my first birthday my parents told me is when they first heard my voice. Up until that time when I would cry or make noise there was nothing. The doctors told them that there may be damage to my vocal cords from all the tubes.
I grew up and lived in Oronoco, MN. I have one younger brother and we were buds growing up. We lived in the country and our neighbors were both set of my grandparents along with an aunt and uncle. After high school I went to and graduated from Mankato State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in English-Teaching, minor in middle school and my reading certification.
I have taught English/Language Arts and Reading in the Rochester Public Middle Schools. I have been a substitute teacher also in Rochester as well as at R.C.L.S. My passion is for teaching students especially middle schoolers! It is such a fun and interesting age to walk with them through that year in their life.
Marc, my husband, and I reside in Rochester and have three children: Kaitlyn, Zachary and Andrew. At our wedding we wanted some verse to be read at the opening before anything else was said. Marc and I chose, "This is the day the LORD has made let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24.
The two verses I mentioned are among my favorites and so are these two.
"Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge." Psalm 62:8
"Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart....Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:3-6
