As a member of the National School Lunch Program, RCLS is committed to serving high quality, nutritious meals at an affordable price. The Bobcat Cafe menus comply with the established USDA meal pattern requirements. Each meal consists of a meat (or meat alternative) grain/bread, two fruits and/or vegetables and milk (1%, skim or low-fat chocolate). In addition to the regular menu, a meat and cheese sandwich option is available on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and a salad option on Tuesday and Thursday. Students will need to let their teacher know the main dish option they are choosing when signing up for lunch each day. A fresh fruit choise and extra bread will be available each day.

Bobcat Cafe provides offer versus serve to all students. This is designed to decrease plate waste and reduce food cost while maintaining the nutrition integrity of the lunch. Students must choose three of the five components offered (main dish entree, grain, fruit, vegetable and milk). Please be aware that one set price will be charged regardless of whether or not all five items are taken.

Lactose free milk is available for students with a lactose intolerance. Parents should submit a written request to . The menus may contain one or more of the following ingredients: milk, eggs, soybeans and wheat. Please contact the Food Service director if your child(ren) have allergy or dietary restrictions.

Bobcat Cafe uses a computerized accounting system. Each student recives a PIN (Personal identification Number) to use for purchasing meals, and/or ala carte items. Parents may send money any day of the week in any amount to be deposited into their student's account. When sending money, please write the students name and "LUNCH MONEY" on the outside of the envelope. The money may be deposited in the drop box by the office before 10 am each day.

Lunch accounts are set up as a pre-pay system; not a charge card. We will send a balance notice home when a student's balance reaches $7.00. The cashier will offer to stamp the child's hand with a "last lunch stamp" when their account will go into a negative balance. Students with a negative balance of $5.85 or more will be given a cheese sandwich and milk. No charges will be allowed for ala-carte purchases with a negative balance.

Parents are welcome to visit our lunchroom and we ask that you call the school office in advance so you may be added to the lunch count.
