Working towards independence is one focus for grades 4-5 students. The curriculum, which is aligned with the Minnesota State Standards, is rich in the area of language arts. Students are exposed to vocabulary in math, science, social studies, and other content areas, and are introduced to the skill of note taking.
The learning of independence plays a large part in our students’ faith walk. The discovery of the Bible information shifts from teacher- to student-directed. Service to others plays a larger role, and direct application to daily life accompanies each Biblical concept.
A major project in each of the grade levels helps students work towards independence and prepares them for future grade levels. Beginning in 5th grade, parents are able to track their child’s progress by following their performance and assignments on RenWeb.
